Description
This beautifully restored 14th-century stone villa offers modern amenities, privacy, and thoughtful design for a restorative stay. The modern layout is perfect for multi-generational families or friends traveling together, with a spacious kitchen, indoor and outdoor dining, a wood stove, and 4 bedrooms–all en suite for convenience and privacy. Every detail of the house has been planned for environmental sustainability, comfort, and supporting local craftsmanship, such as woodwork, basket weaving, stone masonry, ceramic tile making, linen textiles, oil painting, and iron work. From the covered stone terrace, the day beds around the large lap pool, or the ping pong table, enjoy relaxing al fresco with views of the majestic world heritage-designated Sierra de Tramuntana mountains.
Conveniently, the villa is a 15 minute walk to the center of town, and you’ll pass several wonderful restaurants and bakeries on the way. Groceries, a farmer’s market, and a “kilometer zero” local grocery are minutes away by foot. You don’t need a car to enjoy the many hikes right from the front gate into the mountains to explore the villages of Deia, Fornalutx, Biniaraix and Port de Soller (also a terrific swimming beach). We provide our own guide to local finds, and several guide books on exploring the area on foot, by bike, or by car.
You enter from a narrow lane with only sparse local traffic, and two private parking spaces for your convenience. A locked garden allows for safe storage of bikes. The saltwater pool is nestled among citrus trees and tall, verdant walls, providing privacy and revealing an outdoor shower. A traditional Mallorcan low stone wall provides safety for the pool. You’ll see a working traditional well (covered for safety) which collects water for the garden. The outdoor dining area seats 8, and you will also find several outdoor living spaces for reading and conversation. There is the washing machine and dryer, as well as a full bathroom and shower for the pool accesible from the pool area in a small outhouse. A BBQ and grilling supplies make an outdoor meal while watching the sunset on the mountains an easy pleasure.
On the ground floor, you’ll find the common space–a large newly remodeled kitchen, dining and living area with all new appliances and elegant furnishings. There is a TV in this space, as well as a woodstove. This floor also has an office with a large work table with two work stations, and a couch. There is a half bath as well.
All rooms in the house have independent air conditioning and heating, as well as ceiling fans. The house is powered by solar panels on the roof as well as mains electricity.
On the first floor, you’ll find two bedrooms (one queen, 160x200 cm, and one king, 180x200 cm, with a TV and bathtub), each with bathrooms en suite, closets, and breathtaking views. On this floor, there is a terraza with a table to enjoy the mountain and garden scenery. From here, you can also see the church in the town square. On the second floor, you’ll find another two bedrooms, also both en suite (one with two single beds, 90 x 200 cm each, and one king 180x200 cm), each with closets, desks, and sophisticated furnishings. WIFI repeaters ensure excellent coverage throughout the house.
