Stunning, historical village house with ancient wooden beams, stone walls and terracotta tiles. This enchanting 15th century stone house is situated along the village stream a couple of minutes from the village square down the meandering stone mule steps in the quietest and most beautiful part of Fornalutx. El Molino was originally the village flourmill and is steeped in history. The house has been totally renovated to create a unique and spectacular hideaway 'with a little bit more'. After entering through the large wooden double doors you arrive in the Entrada/sitting room with built-in day bed, antique lighting and original millstone feature. The large natural stone arch leads into a cosy sitting/television area with two built-in sofas, large Jotul wood burner, Kartell lighting, traditional shelving and french doors. There is a bodega, wine cellar, leading down from the entrada. A couple of steps takes you into the separate dining room with built-in china cupboards, exposed stone walls, then into the traditional Mallorquin kitchen with built-in pantry, shelving and drawers, stainless four-burner Smeg oven and dishwasher and large fridge freezer. From each of these rooms you can access the terraces and garden.
On the first floor you enter the large double bedroom with two double built-in traditional style wardrobes and shelving, exposed stone walls and terracotta flooring. Leading off is the en-suite shower room with mosaic tiled shower, french style toilet and handbasin.
On entering the bathroom you will find the large unique bathroom with original Spanish floor tiles and bath, antique handbasin and toilet and beautiful exposed walls and beams. Moving to the top floor you find a second large bedroom with fantastic views to the mountains and orange and lemon groves. This room also has exposed walls, terracotta floors and exposed beams and leads through to a double dressing area with shelving and wardrobes.
El Molino offers fantastic outside space and overlooks the village stream. There are a number of terraces, BBQ and outside kitchen area, a beautiful fig tree and banana tree, and a teaked sun deck which you can access from the sitting area and has stunning views to the mountains.
El Molino is a gem of Mallorquin architecture with a contemporary feel and has been featured in a top interior design magazine.
